University of Oxford Hiring Research Software Engineer for SWForum.eu Project

The Department of Engineering Science at Oxford University is looking for a full-time Research Software Engineer to lead their participation in the SWForum.eu Horizon 2020 project.

The successful candidate will continue development of the SWForum.eu Technology Radar as an evolution of the current development and deployment of the Cyberwatching.eu Radar. This will involve the development of both the software used to underpin the radar and the design of the taxonomy by which projects presented in the radar are classified. The successful candidate will also develop new analytics tools to provide insights on the Software Development ecosystem and landscape within both EC and, in future, EU27 national project funding domains.

This position is a fixed-term post until the 1st March 2023, renewable subject to funds. The successful appointee will be based in the Advanced e-Infrastructure and Cloud Computing Research Group led by Prof David Wallom at the Oxford e-Research Centre, within the University of Oxford’s Department of Engineering Science. The group research and develop services and systems to advance the utilisation of ICT in research including Cloud Computing, Software and Cybersecurity.

The successful candidate should hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD or equivalent industrial devOps experience.

Remuneration: £32,817 - £40,322 per annum.
